Psychotherapist, LCSW, LPC, LMFT license required
Purpose:
To provide quality therapeutic services to families where child abuse has occurred.
Essential Job Functions:
Assess individuals and families; develop appropriate treatment interventions; Complete psychosocial assessments and treatment plans; and provide provisional DSM diagnoses; Collaboratively develop treatment goals and discharge planning goals; Provide individual, group, family, and collateral therapy as well as behavioral interventions; Consult with staff and other professionals to plan, coordinate and facilitate quality treatment according to Family Resources clinical standards; Perform case management and other activities related to client services; Develop treatment approaches which increase and enhance the effectiveness of Family Resources services; Meet all paperwork requirements that adhere to all government and agency regulations; Meet and maintain standard service hours (i.e., productivity requirements)and quality of service – working a minimum of two (2) evenings per week; Adhere to all Family Resources policies and procedures including policies governing clients’ rights to privacy and the confidentiality of all information concerning clients; and Proper reporting of child abuse as mandated by law and required by agency guidelines; Attend staff meetings, trainings and clinical supervision; Ability to work from various sites (locations); Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum MA/MS degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related fields;
Professionally Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania (LPC, LSW, etc.); Minimum one (1) year relevant, post-Masters experience; Minimum one (1) year experience / working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and web-based programming;
Must have child abuse and criminal background clearances; Must pass a drug and alcohol test; Willing and able to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on call;
Maintain current valid Pennsylvania driver’s license; Reliable transportation / Maintain private auto suitable for transportation between programs; Proof of appropriate automobile insurance coverage. Ability to evaluate, plan and deliver appropriate services for young children, adults and families.
Preferred Attributes:
Two (2) years post master’s experience in the mental health field preferred; Proficiency in computer software and programming; Familiarity with child abuse and neglect issues; Familiarity with cognitive behavioral approaches; Ability to evaluate, plan and deliver appropriate services for young children, adults and families.
BJWL After School Children's Program - Part-time teachers and tutors
Purpose:
To enhance the literacy skills of children aged 5 -12 through twice-weekly small group classes. To engage primary, intermediate and middle school readers in Story Circles and work to build basic reading skills in basic and below basic learners.
Essential Job Functions:
Teach children in the public housing communities throughout Allegheny County on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:30 to start. Use new KidzLit Reading Kits for Story Circles with children. Engage children in reading beautifully illustrated, multi-cultural books and create extension activities to build basic literacy skills. Attend training sessions for the Kidz Lit curriculum in its entirety for Grades K-8. Discuss pupils’ academic and behavioral attitudes and achievements with Site Supervisors. Ability to read with animation, drama, energy and interactive style. Assess student progress, learning style, and any other academic, social, or developmental issues. Proactively track student academic progress and attendance on a weekly basis. Collect, review, and evaluate student work samples. Complete pre-surveys and post surveys to measure growth in Reading skills. Track and verify that attendance hours are being logged and correlate with number of lessons completed.
Job Qualifications:
Four-year college or university degree required. Must have knowledge and experience with best practices in teaching struggling readers. Must be reliable, enthusiastic, and experienced in working with low income children. Demonstrate a love of language and robust engagement of emerging readers. Must have superior attendance record and commitment to consistent and continuous service. Must pass a drug and alcohol test; must obtain child abuse and criminal background clearances and FBI Background check. E/O/E
Preferred Attributes:
PA certificate. Three or more years teaching experience.
Retreat center sales representative (Part-time and Commission-Based)
Purpose:
The Sales Representative assists the Retreat Center Manager in sales operations including: reserving meetings and conferences, coordinating retreat groups and general administrative functions.
Essential Job Functions:
Increase corporate client base through consistent solicitations. Establish trust and rapport with clients to generate and boost revenues. Explain features of services to potential clients to generate interest. Making follow-up calls to try to close the sale.
Negotiate the terms of the sale with the customer. Generate new leads and follow up with referrals and new leads resulting after field activity. Participate in events in an attempt to generate more sales. Maintain files and records on customers. Prepare schedules and action plans to identify particular targets and list clients contact numbers.
Prepare sales status reports that include activity, follow-up, closing, and adherence to targets. Communicate new service and product opportunities, feedback, special developments, or information collected during field activity to proper company staff.
Prepare weekly action and monthly reports. Present and sell company services to current and prospective clients. Develop and maintain the existing product knowledge and sales materials. Prepare proposals, presentations, and sales contracts. Know the principle competition and leverage the Retreat Center’s relative strengths against each. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Excellent sales skills – Knowledge of sales promotion and advertising/marketing techniques. In depth understanding of the services that are being sold. The ability to take rejection in stride but to stay in pursuit of the goal. Professional attitude and one that is in keeping with the company principles. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills. The ability to build good working relationships with all kinds of people. The ability to work independently – self starter. The ability to persuade and convince others. The ability to build and deliver presentations. Reliable transportation with a willingness to travel most of the times. Good computer application skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. High school diploma or GED equivalency. Must have valid child abuse and criminal history clearances. Must pass drug and alcohol test.
Preferred Attributes:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. 1 year experience in a sales position.
Senior Records Technician
Purpose: The Senior Records Technician’s objective is to collect, maintain, and make available to authorized users timely, accurate, secure and complete consumer information. The Senior Technician provides oversight to ensure that health information particularly that is within the designated record set- is properly recorded, maintained, secured, processed, retrieved and distributed in accordance with HIPAA and DPW standards and guidelines.
Essential job functions:
Assists supervisor with developing and administrating health information policies, guidelines and standards; Develops, administers and updates health information policies and guidelines and standards; Conducts routine chart audits, makes recommendations and provides timely written reports on health information deficiencies; Monitors patterns of chart deficiencies across programs and consults with supervisor regarding recommendations; Assists with training all new program services staff in regards to health information functions; Assists in preparing for agency licensing audits by continuously assuring all medical records documentation is complete and current in consumers files; Ensures each sheet of consumer information contains appropriate identifying information, including signatures/credentials; Organizes and evaluates medical records for completeness and accuracy; Controls Releases of Information from consumer information records in accordance with applicable standards. Photocopies records and documents for billing and/or legal services; researches, retrieves and sends information as directed by supervisor; Keeps supervisor informed of problems or issues; monitors supplies needed; Creates and sustains a receptive environment that promotes cooperative relationships between staff, consumers and providers; Serves as core member on the Quality Assurance Committee; Perform other duties as assigned.
Job qualifications:
Requires RHIA or RHIT credential and two years medical records experience; Working knowledge of health information management, applicable laws and regulations (i.e., Mental Health Procedures, BDAP confidentiality regulations and the HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act); Strong ability to organize and systemize files and reports; Must be able to work independently and in team settings; Ability to demonstrate excellent time management skills and ability to work in fast past, high demand services oriented environment; Strong communication- orally and writing – with a variety of audiences, maintaining a working relationship with consumers, staff, government, medical, insurance, legal and other representatives; Excellent attention to detail, initiative and project management skills; Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office Applications including (Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint); Act 33/34 and FBI clearances; Must pass required drug and alcohol testing and submit to random urine screening; Maintain private auto suitable for transporting self, staff and clients in the course of work with proof of business use insurance coverage.
Visitation Monitor
Purpose:
To escort children from custodial care - to and from - non custodial care and provide a safe environment for visits on agency grounds and in the community.
Essential Job Functions:
Monitor family members/caregivers on scheduled visitations and exchanges, document observations involving children and parents/caregivers; capable of and comfortable providing guidance to family members to enhance the visitation experience; Provide guidance, intervention and suggestions as appropriate to enhance the quality and assure safety of the visit, as in accordance with program guidelines; maintain professional boundaries at all times during visits; maintain confidentiality of information of client records; participate in the ongoing development of the program, attending and participating in 10 or more mandatory Visitation Services staff meetings and agency trainings and activities; demonstrate a personal awareness and sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of persons served by the agency; ensure that job-related activities will be in compliance with agency policies and procedures, program goals and objectives, and relevant professional association ethical standards and accreditation standards; perform other job-related duties as required.
Job Qualifications:
Must be able to work the following shifts: Wednesday & Friday 4:45 p.m. – 8:15 p.m.; Sunday 11:45 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.; high school diploma; a knowledge of family relationships and conflicts, particularly as related to families involved in the child welfare system; Act 33/34 and FBI clearances; must pass Drug and Alcohol test.
