FAMILY RETREAT CENTER

Welcome to the Family Retreat Center,
a year-round program of Family Resources, the
largest agency in Western Pennsylvania focusing on
the prevention and treatment of child abuse.

The Family Retreat Center, located in the Cranberry Township area, is an important resource in our therapeutic work with families and communities. Each year, approximately 8,000 parents, children and teenagers attend activities at the Family Retreat Center. The facility offers special opportunities to work on family issues in a natural setting.

Community groups come to the Family Retreat Center to rebuild networks of support in their neighborhoods and reconnect family members to one another.

Business, social and faith-based organizations, schools, and other groups use the Family Retreat Center. The facilities are perfect for retreats, conferences, training programs, picnics, outings, hiking and camping.

Working with families and neighborhood groups, our goal is to encourage positive interaction in a warm and nurturing atmosphere. The playground and childcare facilities are designed for children of all ages. Our staff is especially trained in providing family-oriented activities and educational programming.

Try out our confidence/ropes course, learn about the great outdoors on a guided nature walk, or enjoy a hayride. In the winter, explore the country-side on skis, test our toboggan run, and warm yourself by a crackling fire!

Located 20 minutes north of Pittsburgh, in Marshall and Cranberry Townships, the Family Retreat Center provides recreational, educational and meeting facilities for groups of up to 200. These include:

260 acres of fields, wooded trails, and lake
group- and family-style cabins for overnight, short-term and long-term stays
playground and athletic fields
canoeing and fishing
Olympic-size swimming pool
confidence/ropes course
indoor recreational hall and meeting space
home-cooked meals
hayrides, archery, carnivals and treasure hunts
professional attention from program and kitchen staff
