A
year-round facility of Family
Resources, the largest agency in Western Pennsylvania focusing on the
prevention and treatment of child abuse. The Family Retreat Center is
an important resources in our therapeutic work with families and
community. Each year, approximately 8,000 parents, children and
teenagers attend activities at the Family Retreat Center. The facility
offers special opportunities to work on family issues in a natural
setting.
Community groups come to the Family Retreat Center to rebuild networks
of support in their neighborhoods and reconnect family members to one
another.
Business, social and faith-based organizations, schools and other
groups use the Family Retreat Center. The facilities are perfect for
retreats, conferences, training programs, picnics, outings, hiking and
camping.
Bring your next event to our first-class facility 20 minutes from
downtown Pittsburgh nestled on 185 acres of rolling, wooded, natural
beauty, located in Cranberry, off Rt. 79 near Rt. 228 or off the
Pennsylvania Turnpike exit 28 (old exit 3).
Cabins
| These confortable
cabins can accommodate from two to 20
people in each. All cabins have three private bathrooms and are ADA
compliant. The cabins can also serve as smaller venues for business
meetings or break-out areas. |

Food and Amenities
Good food is pivotal to a successful experience. We have a variety of
caterers and dining establishments ready to provide you with terrific
food that meets your needs. If your tastes run toward hearty,
camp-style cooking, you can make your choices with our on-site cook.
We serve these meals in a magnificent climate-controlled dining hall
with stone hearth and outdoor deck. In this gorgeous setting we are
capable of serving up to 160 people at one time. For smaller, more
intimate gatherings, we can divide this large space or provide you with
an alternate venue that better suits your needs.
For corporate groups, trainers or consultants, we can provide services
to help ensure your success. We have team-building exercises, highly
talented facilitators and on-site concierge service all designed to
make your stay productive and enjoyable.
Business amenities include internet access, laptop, projector for
presentations, and copiers/facsimile access.

Directions to the Family
Retreat Center
From Pittsburgh:
Take I-279 N to 79 N. Take Exit #76 (Cranberry, US 19) on 79 N. this is
a LEFT-HAND EXIT.
Exit ramp will merge into 19 N. Stay in the RIGHT-HAND TURNING LANE.
Turn right at the FIRST TRAFFIC LIGHT onto Freeport Road. There is a
Sunoco Gas Station and a Fifth Third Bank at the intersection.
The Family Retreat Center is approximately half a mile from the
intersection of Freeport Road and 19 N. Take Freeport Road over the
bridge, pass the Regional Learning Alliance on the left and continue
another 300 yards, then slow down -- the entrance tot he Retreat Center
is hidden by trees on the LEFT. Enter through the black gate and FIRST
set of stone pillars.
From PA Turnpike (points
East/West):
Take the turnpike to the Cranberry Exit (#28). Take US 19 SOUTH. Get
into the left lane as soon as possible. go to the first traffic light
(Route 19) and turn left; going south. At the third traffic light, turn
LEFT onto Freeport Road (landmarks -- Sunoco Gas Sation, Fifth Third
Bank). Follow from above.
From Erie (points North):
Take Exit #78 (Cranberry, US 19) on 79 S. At the end of the ramp, turn
right onto 228. Get into the left lane as soon as possible. Go to the
first traffic light (Route 19) and turn left; going south. At the third
traffic light, turn LEFT onto Freeport Road (landmarks -- Sunoco Gas
Station, Fifth Third Bank). Follow from above.
