The Parent-Teen Conflict Program provides
support for parents, pre-teens, and teens including parent education,
support groups, and referral to additional programs depending on the
needs of the family.

with a child who has a serious emotional disturbance
The System of Care Initiative (SOCI) ensures
access to a wide range of services for children between the ages of 6
and 18 who have severe emotional disorders and their families.
The
program includes outreach, parent support, advocacy in school and
community
settings, and parent empowerment. Family Resources is the lead agency
in East Liberty and nearby neighborhoods and in McKeesport

non-medical parenting concern.

The Family Retreat Center offers a location for
parent education, support, and recreational programming for family and
neighborhood groups.

Support Center in the Hill
Located at 1801 Centre Avenue Suite 310, The Hill District Center
for Nurturing Families provides parent education, parent support,
family recreation, family goal planning, and school-readiness
activities, developmental screenings for children ages 4 months to 5
years, advocacy, and referral, with an emphasis on families with
children ages birth through five. Programs are designed and led by
Family Support Center members.

- Beverly
Jewel Wall Lovelace Children's Program (BJWL), located in 19 public
and subsidized housing communities throughout Pittsburgh and Allegheny
County, provides safe after-school and summer programs six days a week
for children ages
5-16. BJWL offers social, emotional, academic, recreational, and other
resources for families.

FAMILIES IN CRISIS

- Immediate response to families in crisis because of child
abuse or neglect
Crisis
Intervention Services are offered for families whose children are
at risk for being placed outside the home because of physical or
emotional
abuse, neglect, or disclosure of sexual abuse; services include
support/education
for families working toward reunification.

FAMILIES WITH ABUSED CHILDREN

- Physically, sexually and emotionally abused and/or neglected
children
Outpatient
Psychotherapy Services include individual, family, group, couples,
and play therapy -- and collateral sessions -- as well as therapy for
adults who experienced abuse and/or other forms of family violence as
children; treatment services for non-abusing partners, psychiatric
evaluation, medical management.

Family-Based Mental Health Services provide
intensive, team-delivered and individualized mental health services in
the home for families with a child or adolescent (up to age 21) who is
at
risk for out-of-home placement. Services include family and individual
therapy, crisis intervention, case management, and family support
services.

Family-Focused/Solution-Based Services provide
crisis intervention, assessment, individual and family therapy,
resource coordination/case management, and support and education about

- Abused and neglected preschool children
The
Therapeutic Parents' and Children's Center provides therapeutic
preschool services for children with developmental delay and/or
emotional disturbance who may have experienced physical or sexual abuse
or severe neglect, or who may have witnessed family violence.
Supportive services are provided to parents
and caregivers.
