Visitation Services
at Family Resources
When domestic violence happens, the court may order a special arrangement that reduces visitation-related stress for parents and children alike. By providing trained counselors and individual support, Visitation Services at Family Resource foster safe, nurturing environments in which children can build wholesome relationships with non-custodial parents or other family members.
Before you can participate, the court must order supervised visitation and refer you to Family Resources. Don’t be concerned if your documents mention the Parental Stress Center—that organization became part of Family Resources in 2010.
There are no geographic restrictions as long as one parent resides in Allegheny County. You can schedule visits on Wednesday or Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., or Sunday from noon to 5:00 p.m. There is a sliding scale of fees for participation.
We require an initial consultation before visitation begins. When you meet with our case worker, please bring your photo ID, your court order, the Social Security numbers of all children involved, and a proof of income.
For families at risk of domestic violence, we provide trained counselors and individual support for safe, low-stress parent-child visitation
