Home Visits
You and your baby can enjoy the attention of a warm, supportive home visitor—a friendly expert you can talk to about every aspect of caring for your newborn. Your home visitor will listen to your comments and share your joy as your baby grows through those important infant, toddler, and preschool years. We will pair you with a caring listener, trained in child development, health, and family issues, who will bring you valuable information. Your personal home visitor will be familiar with the resources that your community offers, and will be committed to you and your family.
Home visits provide free support for the entire family—not only for you as a parent, but for your newborn, his or her siblings, and your extended family. Your family-centered home visitor will gently encourage positive parent-and-child relationships, and always recognize your role as the decision-maker and your child’s first teacher
You and your visitor will discuss infant and child development, such as ways to prepare your child for school; your infant’s health needs, including immunizations, nutrition, and prenatal care; and community resources you and your whole family can use.
