Outpatient Psychotherapy
Reducing the risk of violence towards children while helping individuals and families function more effectively is the aim of our family-focused Outpatient Psychotherapy service. By concentrating on changing the interactions, roles, and patterns of family life, we empower and strengthen the entire family. Our approach emphasizes safety, healthy relationships, and positive behaviors.
We teach skills and strategies that increase safe emotional expression. Families learn how to improve interpersonal skills, manage crises, understand child and adolescent development, and act as advocates for those who need support.
We offer three areas of group therapy, in which we encourage participants to listen to and support one another: Adult groups include sessions dedicated to adults molested and abused as children. Non-offending parent groups are intended for parents or caretakers who have not been accused of abuse, but were present when the abuse occurred. Sexual perpetrator groups are restricted to non-violent offenders who have been accused of sexual child abuse.
We also offer individual therapy for adults and adolescents; play therapy for children; family therapy; collateral family therapy (in which the therapist meets with parents only during sessions); couples therapy; and marital therapy.
